A Virginian through birth; a Chicagoan through fate. My name is William Purvis and I have been a photographer here in Chicago since 2003. This love affair began after seeing the works of Gordon Parks, Irving Penn and Harry Callahan and I have since devoted myself to capturing the human experience in its many moods and complexities. I started out as a street photographer (sometimes ending up in places where one shouldn't be) but the desire to move forward as an artist led me toward the professional studio.  

Specializing in portraiture, this portfolio website showcases my work specifically in the genre of beauty (emphasizing ellegance, grace and sensuality).
